Do not do business with these people, they are crooks and are trying to steal my money. I placed a deposit of over $5,000 for a hot tub, and shortly there after my situation changed and I no longer needed it. I called and explained this to the sales manager on October 1, and told him that in NC it is illegal for them to keep my deposit if we don't complete the transaction AND I had it in writing from them that it was refundable. He asked me to email him the documentation, which I did. I have not received a single call back from anyone since then. I have gotten a few employees and the occasional manager on the phone, but no one has provided me with any information. It has now been 37 days since I requested a refund of my money, and despite leaving over 15 messages for the woman named Cindy that everyone has told me is in charge of the refunds, she hasn't once even had the courtesy to return a phone call. I finally had to get an attorney involved today. I hope they don't respond to his letter so we can sue them, because I would love for them to have to cover court fees, attorney fees, interest, lost time at work dealing with this headache, and anything else that will be quite easy to prove.

Thinking of buying a radiant pool? DO NOT buy from here! After taking our $17k for a pool, installation was a complete disaster. Pool lasted 4 days before all the water leaked to a faulty liner. (Allegedly) 2nd liner installed and it lasted 4 months before it started leaking again. Good luck trying to get them to correct their mistakes. Manager Brandon does not call back, email or respond. Don’t let the google reviews fool you, they have a sign posted in showroom. “ $50.00 store credit for a google positive review. Buyers beware!

Absolutely amazing customer service with the entire staff at backyard leisure. Ryan, Dave, West, Aaron, Jason, and Nate, to include the delivery and setup staff. They all were professional and communication to keep us abreast on any changes or back orders. Due to shortage of supply and demand were not at all the store fault. The supply and demand had an impact for delivery. Anytime we called or dropped a pool test off the staff greet you with positive feedback and made sure your chemicals were balance. I really enjoyed the upbeat positive personalities at Backyard Leisure of Raleigh. Staff are truly awesome and if we could give more than 5 stars it would be 10. Also the pricing was extremely reasonable to accommodate our need. We purchase a beautiful pool and A9l bullfrog Spa. We are really enjoying both. We are definitely an elated satisfied customer.

Of course, we pick the worst time to go pool shopping. Between the supply chain issues and having vetted every pool installer's personal preference on pool type, we were off to a painful start. We met with many pool companies for over a month. Companies of all different sizes, and although each was independently unique, the same stipulations applied across the board. The pool installs were at least 12 months out and getting someone to sit down for a consult was around one month out. It was very frustrating. We stumbled across Backyard Leisure and decided to give them a try. Don't judge the company by the area in which their Raleigh office is located, these guys are legit. Aaron Garner actually sat down with us on the spot and provided us with the information we were seeking. He answered all of our questions and provided us with much needed insight to help us plan our next move. On top of all that, the anticipated install was less than 12 months out. Aaron clearly knew what he was talking about and also helped us realize the best approach to our inground spa. Aaron was there throughout the entire process; he was more of a partner than a salesman and still is. They have some real talent working for them, Alberto leading installs gained my trust and confidence within an hour of him being onsite during the install, he knows his stuff. At the end of the day, we are more than happy with the product and the team at Backyard Leisure. Cheers!

Chris and the rest of his staff are so knowledgeable about all their services that they offer and when you walk in they are so attentive to everything you need! If you're thinking of doing business with Backyard Leisure, don't. You will regret it. My family was promised that our pool installation would be a seamless process completed by professionals. We have found out that the company does not care about their customers, uses deceptive sales practices (Eric), does not communicate with their customers, has inexperienced and unprofessional employees on the installation/grading team and will not rectify any issues. Here's a timeline of our experience and, based on numerous employees, there are many other customers who have had a similar experience: 2/13 - Paid in full for pool 3/24 - Grading scheduled - no one showed up 3/28 - Graders show up but were not prepared - advised they'd come back in the afternoon 3/29 - Graders say they'll come on 3/30 3/30 - Graders no call no show 3/31 - Graders say they'll contact me but never follow up 4/1 - Graders text after 3pm stating they'll be by the next day 4/2 - Graders reschedule for 4/7 4/7 - Graders don't show up 4/8 - Graders cancel at 7am 4/9 - Graders say they'll call later but never do 4/10 - Graders finally complete their work 4/15 - Installation team begins but cannot finish as they don't have the right tools 4/16 - Installer (Austin) watches YouTube videos to find out what to do but completes no work, still doesn’t bring the right tools 4/19 - We send email to company asking for updates - no communication from anyone (first picture) 4/29 - Still no communication - send another email asking for our pool to be finished 5/5 - Installation team comes back to finish (in the dark, without lights) - install steps incorrectly and unsafely (third picture - this is the quality you can expect from this company) 5/6 - After numerous calls, installation team comes back - regional manager (Jeff) promises to fix our pool 5/18 - Company's head installer comes out to fix the steps - also uses duck tape to make the stretched liner fit the modifications he had to make (fourth picture) 5/23 - Backfill begins but crew has to leave to pull another employee out of the mud on another homesite 5/24 - Our pool is still not finished and the company doesn't care

I'm so happy to hear others have gotten good service. We ordered a pool close to two years ago. We did get it earlier this year, and we understood that there were delays due to COVID. However, we STILL do not have the cover to the pool. My husband has been in touch with Brandon repeatedly (my husband has to call; Brandon generally does not)...and we get told yes, it's unacceptable that we don't have it, yes, he'll follow up and see... that's what we hear every time. Every.single.time. My favorite is when my husband calls and gets told that "Brandon is with a customer now, he will call you back". I can say with confidence that 90 percent of the time, Brandon does not call back. Two years, still no cover....... update 9/3/21: My husband called again today (he always calls; there is hardly EVER a call FROM Brandon)...supposedly it will be here in a week, coming from Canada. We'll see. I'm not holding my breath, but if it does arrive, I'll certainly amend this review.
